The shirt was supposed to be and feel midiam. But it felt large. Didn't fit me right.

The entire package arrived several days earlier than expected, and I was skeptical of the purchase, but once receiving all the items I realized the material quality was high the fit was perfect and the price was great. I even had to change my pants size day after I ordered and it was corrected and I received the proper fit.

I like Frontier Classics shirts except that the sleeves are usually too short for me. I’m over 6’ 2” with longer than average arms and legs. The fact that Historical Emporium stocks extra long, or ‘Tall’, versions of the shirts is perfect. I haven’t found them anywhere else (which is why I bought the shirt from them rather than from a supplier in the UK). I wish the long versions of Frontier Classics shirts were more widely available because this one I’ve bought is very good.

I do period recreations and Steampunk cosplay. I needed a shirt for a new cosplay not to dissimilar to the office outfits worn on The Gilded Age on HBO Max. This shirt is very close to what I was looking for and the price was not bad. It matched the frock and waist coat I got for the cosplay very well. Understand in period, many white shirts were off white and not stark white. I love the texture and color difference. If you are looking for a more casual Late Victorian/Edwardian shirt, this will do the trick.

One of my favorite shirts. Fits perfectly, and looks great. Good quality, and great for those who want that true western 1800's look. It also looks great with my antique 1879 A.W. Co. Waltham with key pocket watch. Would recommend!

Online comments said the shirt fits on the large size so I went with the fit chart and bought a medium instead of the usual large and it fits perfect. Plenty of shoulder room and arm length is exact. Beautifully made. Shipping was really fast to Canada.

Very good quality, nice and breezy and handy for summer. And the collar style makes it versatile, so you're paying for two different shirts in one. It's quite baggy around the stomach but a waistcoat takes care of that. I ordered 2XL and it fits me perfectly, which is pretty good for something I bought online. With the collars starched up, I think it probably looks best with a deluxe western-style bowtie or a cravat.

For a 2xl I found the neck to be quite small, but still satisfactory.

I wanted to get a comfy yet slightly stylish shirt for a Steampunk convention and this one is perfect. I live in a hot climate and tend to get overheated easily. This shirt did a good job of keeping me comfortable. It's loose but not so billowy that it looks like a pirate shirt. The collar is just right for a casual look or a slightly dressier look when paired with a vest and tie - which is what I wanted. It's held-up really well in the washing machine. No loss of shape. Great shirt!

This shirt makes me look more like a Victorian gentleman, especially when I have the collar stand up. Its a good addition to my wardrobe and I always feel like a Victorian gentleman when I put it on.

I love this shirt. The material and cut make it good for dressy occasions, but it isn't overly formal and great for everyday wear, especially with a four-in-hand or bow tie. Like many of your products, it's a staple of my daily wardrobe. Now my eye is on either the white or blue one for summer.

I just returned from Tombstones "Helldorado Days" where I wanted to get my photo taken with the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday. I had wonderful black Frontier Classics trousers, red apache scarf, grey tweed vest and white banded collar shirt. I ended up hating the shirt. It made me feel like I was choking. I bought the Sinclair Edwardian shirts in all the colors available and LOVE them. With the proper ties I can leave the collar unbuttoned, breathe and still look good.

I most recently had the opportunity to attend a “Black Tie Chic” event. I did not want to purchase an entire tuxedo- what do to? I turned to the myriad of shirts at Historical Emporium to put together a “look”. To include the Tuxedo-look of the Sinclair Edwardian Club Collar Shirt and Gold Vest. Well let me tell you I looked sensational- some folks came up to me and said I looked dapper. I was worried about size but the shirt xxl fit fine- great cotton feel. I am serious. It feels so good ( wash before wear ) that you just want to wear one every day. They are cool in another way. The stains that accumulate from a few small drops of stout may stick but the effect is an increase in the character or the shirt. I liked the first one so much that I bought two more. In this shirt, you can look diesel as hell or fop about on the town. Add a waistcoat though...for decorum's sake.

I brought the shirt for an event and it needed to dye the shirt yellow, so I dyed the shirt the color I needed. The fabric took well to the dying process and looks and fits fantastic.

I really like this style, its really comfortable. But be sure to order a size larger than what you normally wear, I wear a size 17 neck and when I received my order and tried it on, it felt a little tight in the chest area, I think it had something to do with the way the shirt is sewn at the bottom of the opening, it kind of bunches up a bit. I sent it back and got a size 18-18.5 and now it fits a lot better.

I have wanted a shirt like this for several years after seeing antique ones in flea markets in France. The shirt is very well made of soft, drapey cotton. Great with leggings! I've gotten many positive comments. Very comfortable.

I give mixed reviews on the Viceroy shirt. I paid $94 to have it delivered. It is a comfortable cotton shirt but that's where the complements end. The sleeves were 38" long - I needed 32". You would think for that price they would have better options for an XL shirt.

This shirt works perfectly with my Victorian costume for Community Theatre.

The size of historically cut shirts can be tricky, as the HE site does say, but it means that I have to get the sleeves shortened to fit me before I wear this. The cloth is lovely quality, and it looks great with the black stock.

I love the material and style of the shirt. Packaging was great and felt adequate (perhaps better) to protect the item from anything that fate would throw at it. I especially love the fluted chest fabric, as it looks very dashing.

This is a very nice looking shirt. Very classy. I also have the white on black version of this shirt as well. You'll look very sharp wearing this Bad Boy. The only regret I have with this shirt is how thin the material is.

I would normally wear XL to get the neck closure but wear L if I didn't need the collar to be fastened. These shirts are generously cut (but not too big) so I can get a great fitting shirt in size L that still buttons up at the neck comfortably. Good quality as well.

The shirt was purchased for a film shoot, yes I am an Actor and have been in several films and CMT Videos. The size was as expected and appearance was high quality.

This isn’t a costume shirt, it’s a dress shirt designed to the style of a former era, so I expected a lot and it is nearly perfect. Purchased for a Regency/Bridgerton costume to wear with vest and stock. My husband has sensory issues (autism, ADHD) so nothing but a cotton or linen shirt works. This was the only 100% cotton one I found. Seams and buttonholes are dress shirt quality, as expected. No loose threads. Collar has a loop on the back to secure a tie. Collar is double thickness and opaque, stands up on its own but will need ironing and starching. Body of the shirt is slightly translucent - without a vest, an undershirt will be necessary, but it will be cool in summer. Cut is era-appropriately boxy to loose. Lots of ease across the back with pleating. My husband is a chest size 44, but shoulders are 46 so we ordered XL. Turns out he could have sized down to L, as the shoulders are 1/2” past his natural shoulder, but as Regent shoulders were drop shoulders anyway, we’re keeping it. My husband is 6’, but with a 31” inseam so his torso fits like a 6’2” person. The length is perfect, and even at 6’4” you likely could get away with it, though it may be a little harder to keep tucked in is you’re doing more than walking and sitting. We’re very pleased with the shirt and I suspect he’ll look for other occasions and ways to wear it, because it’s so comfy. Photos are hung up wet to drip dry. Relatively wrinkle free, but needs ironing and collar...

The first coat, shirt and pants that I ordered were too big and I needed to return them for the next smaller size. The exchange was accomplished within 5 days. A company rep. was very helpful when I called about the problem. The replacement garments are a good fit although I will need a small alteration to the vest because my middle is larger than my chest. Quality & workmanship of clothing is excellent and I expect that they will last for many years.... and Never go out of style. Thank you! I plan to order additional items in future.

1928 Roadster and like to period dress for events and occasions. These trousers, knickers, shirts etc. from Historical Emporium fit the bill. Even though they are earlier vintage, for working guys, they are still in style for the 20's, 20's and even 40"s. The fit is good and the quality high. Love the stuff! We are hosting the MAFCA 2024 National Convention at Ruidoso, NM in June and are rigging up for the festivities with new duds.

Great quality! I am always wary when purchasing shirts online because they never fit. I have a big neck so when I buy a collard shirt I have to get one with a big enough neck so I'm not choking but the rest of the shirt ends up a dress. Not this one! This was a Christmas gift for my husband, so he just opened it yesterday--been wearing it ever since. He LOVES it! Perfect weight fabric, & seems VERY well constructed. Sizing is perfect for him too! Definitely get the shirt heavily starched or make your own from rice flour. The collar should always be very stiff.

Very nice looking and comfortable shirt that is well made in a good quality cotton. Size is a bit bigger than expected, but after a cold wash and a tumble dry it shrunk to a perfect fit.

I am into Steampunk, and this is the conclusion of attire I needed in its creation. I had several other shirts that just couldn't fit the bill for various different reasons. When I put the shirt on with my other clothes and then finally the face mask I created, the shirt gave an added debonair look that made me say only one thing. "EXCELSIOR!!"

Perfect compliment for a Puffer Tie.

After years of using modern tuxedo shirts, my Dickens caroling group decided to go with more authentic shirts to fit the Victorian period theme. This was exactly what we hoped for.

While I have not wore the shirt yet, I am debating between this shirt or the White Pleated Dress Shirt to wear at an upcoming wedding.

I bought this shirt as part of my 1880's costume. It looks great and fits almost like tailor-made. The only thing "bad" I could say about it is that the fabric seems a little on the thin side, but this is really a very minor point.

Superb quality and exactly what I was looking for. Due to my short size I needed a large neck and chest size and this works perfectly. The sleve length was quite long however. I wish that there had been a sleeve length in same size 8 inches shorter. But, I have a Tailor that can take care of that. So, I couldn't be happier with this shirt. I may just get a couple more.
