I now own and wear daily several pairs of 1800s trousers and have acquired this, my second vest. Have never been a vest fan but I am now--this and my other vest are in daily use now and look spectacular--very well made, too.

This is my second time buying an "Old West" vest for my costume as a "Living History" re-enactment player. The first attempt was at another web site and the sizing turned out to be an educated guess, it didn't fit. At the Emporium the sizing instructions were accurate and it fits perfectly! I also appreciate that I can purchase the components of my character/outfit one at a time and still have that continuity that the whole outfit looks like it was purchased together.

Though the vest is old design it’s looks great with jeans or wearing to work. Fits well. Good quality. Will be buying another one.

This is a well made vest. The material is a heavy duty cotton and feels like very soft canvas. I gave it 4 stars only because of the plastic buttons. They are heavy duty buttons, but I would have paid more money for a vest with buttons that were more period correct (such as wood or another natural material). Also, the tag on the vest says "Gunslinger Vest" and the brand on the label is Frontier Classics. So it is designed as a western style vest. I was wanting something in a Victorian style to wear with my bowler hat, but it will also go well with my western hat. I ordered a size Large and it fits true to size. I wear a size 42 suit and it was a little big, but was able to adjust it down to my size with the tab belt on the back. Plenty of pockets.

Quality is spectacular and the shipping is as if I walked into the store and purchased it, delivery from the west coast was quick like I've never seen. Customer service top notch, size of clothing was as described. Best to get one size larger as with all dress clothes due to the high waist. Best clothing company ever!!

This is a great quality, great-looking vest. Sewing quality is outstanding. The material is thick and soft. Buttons are quality, too. I normally would fall into the Large sizing, which I ordered initially, but had to re-order a Medium, which fit perfectly.

Wearing this vest is not only comfortable, but remarkably historic. I have only received compliments when I wore it - everyone has asked me more about it, and I've told them right away about the Emporium. Works superbly with a cravat and a pocket watch. Hopefully, one day, the mainstream fashion can return to this golden age! We can only try.

They almost always feel to short in length and there is always too much space between the bottom of the vest and the waist of my pants . I bought this vest in the 3XT , and even though they were a special order and took a few days longer to get , when it arrived it fit PERFECTLY .

I bought this vest after being less than impressed with my 'old fashioned' vest from another retailer. I absolutely love this vest! It has a full cotton, tan back to it. The cut is great. Going for a bit of a settler look for my wedding on my side, and this one helped me hit the mark. Strong recommendation for the look and quality.

I am a pastor and occasionally I have an opportunity to do a service that requires a vintage Parsons outfit. I'm going to be speaking at the 100th anniversary of the Easter sunrise service at a famous rock in my city that has been used by traveling preachers since 1837. My other vest was getting a little too tight so I needed a bigger one.

Very good canvas material and well stitched... Seems durable. I use the items that I buy from Historical Emporium for everyday wear and having access to canvas pants and vests at reasonable prices is very nice. Shipping is fast and customer service is THE best I have delt with lately.... I cannot express how happy I am overall with Customer Service for Historical Emporium. The only small drawback is that sometimes the sizes I want are out of stock at the time I want to order. I have checked back at a later date and been able to find the sizes I want, so I would advise others to be patient and check back.

No occasion. Just thought I would start gathering my western attire. I wore to church and everyone really like it. The only problem I have is that, I measured wrong and I chose my usual size(XL, when I should had chosen 2XL). It doesn't go over my belly, but that's ok, because I can wear it unbuttoned. The bow tie fits great. I want to build a complete western outfit, but I'll have to do it one piece at a time. I would like to get a pair of cowboy boots next or maybe a couple of shirts(Bib styles). Then, I'll work on getting a couple pairs of pants. At least, that's the plan. I'm very happy and glad I found this store. I check this site often and add items to my wish list. This vest is spot on. Had to workout an exchange because I needed a tall - MEASURE THE LENGTH! You'll save yourself the trouble. Once I got this vest though I was sold. The quality is great. Nice solid canvas with a beautiful texture. It's already starting to soften and bend more easily with some wear. The buttons and back strap are all super solid. My usual style is Western wear, but hard to find quality inTall sizes. When I checked some shirts offered by Historical Emporium, the ones I liked didn't come in a Tall size, so I emailed to complain.They said they do offer some in Tall, so I looked again and found this gem of a vest. I wear it when I'm working in the warehouse and I want a good looking way to protect my shirt, looks great I like it.

I am 6'1" medium build. I ordered the XL Tall. Fits perfectly. Good that it has an adjustment buckle in the back as I am slim waisted and cinched it up so it has a nice tapered look. My vest was made in Guatemala, so I am good enough with that. USA would be better, but what are ya gonna do?

I've a wardrobe for my reenactments and speaking on my war between the states persona. After being invited to participate in a Wild West event I needed a few items to adjust the look. My other vests are coat and tie ones, I needed a working man's look, this is exactly what I wanted and needed. The event isn't until the end of October and I'll be submitting photos then.

This is a sturdy well made garment. It is great for working around the property when a jacket is to much and a sweater is too delicate for the job at hand. Size seems to run a wee bit small, but may loosen up after some wear and a wash.
