Stealthy style for the Victorian gentleman, our Black Cotton Inverness Cape is what to wear when strolling cobblestone streets by the light of the gas lamps - surefire, streetwise credibility. Ideal for your favorite Sherlock or Jack the Ripper impression, but will also shine as a stylish dress cloak.

Falling below the knees, this full-length, black satin-lined cloak features a generous cut and over-cape construction with fabric-covered buttons from the neck to waist. Inner cloak has generously sized arm holes to allow freedom of movement and access to two slant pockets.

This cotton cloak with black satin lining falls well below knees at approximately 52", the attached cowl measures 27" in length, and the armholes are 14". Four fabric-covered buttons fasten the front. Imported. Dry clean only.

One size fits most men, up to 56" chest, neck measures 20".

Big Cape
This cape is quite large and would be very helpful if one needed to smuggle a small animal or some type of pilfered artifact on and off of a train.

For a variety of outerwear
Bought the black cotton Inverness Cape this time, along with the black cotton Callahan Frock Coat and the black wool Coburn Great Coat I had purchased previously. The Callahan Sack Coat will be purchased before long. Still too warm to wear. I really like these styles.

Wow! Impressive!
I'm impressed! Much better made than I expected. This will work well with my collection of hats; pirate, detective, western, the shadow, etc. As far as the fit goes, it's just rite for my 6' 3" - 211lb frame.

More than happy!
I honestly did not know what to expect as far as quality and I have to say I was very impressed. The cape is beautifully made. It is not some cheap reproduction but a well put together, stunning piece of clothing. It’s one size fits all is a little big on me. I’m 5’ 11” at 185 lbs and the shoulders are a little large, but I can certainly live with that. I would recommend Historical Emporium to anyone looking for quality period clothing.

The black Inverness Cape
The cape looks good, all seems to be in order with it, how it is made, the buttons, etc. The black satin lining is nice.

Plays the part
I needed this for a cemetery tour that I was involved with. And I wanted to do the Victorian era and this was perfect. I got many compliments on it and it really looks good on me definitely happy with the purchase.

A quality costume
Got this for a Halloween costume. Also for my stage theater. This was a very good value decently well made with good pockets. Wore it in NYC Halloween 2021 and it was comfortable and warm enough but not suitable for really cold weather. Glad I bought it and will have many future uses.
