During the latter half of the 19th century, ready made shirts came in a single (extra long) sleeve length. Sleeve garters allowed men to customize sleeve lengths, and keep their clothing from becoming soiled while working.

These garters measure 1 inch wide and 10 inches to 17 inches when fully stretched. Recommended for arms with a 12-16 inch circumference.
